Avoid pitting - store your high alloy OCTG on PE-compound pipe carriers!

14/06/2018

Pro-Quip frequently visits various supply bases along the coast of Norway, where E&P Companies store casing and tubing. A common observation is that most E&P companies use of wooden pipe carriers when storing 13% chrome/super chrome casing/tubing.

This increases the risk of pitting significantly and should be avoided - please use PE-compound pipe carriers!

Very small investment, but it will prolong the life of your 13% Cr OCTG. This combined with proper inspection programs is the way to go, to make sure your high alloy OCTG is fit-for-purpose for your next well !
